BeatLounge was born from the mind of Alejandra Iorgulescu, Director and Producer of the project. An Argentinean living in Los Angeles for the past decade, who created a website where electronic music would be the sole protagonist, a place where this self-proclaimed geek, graphic designer, former webmaster and all around technology junkie would come to blend all her passions.
The idea began to take shape in early 2005. It worked under a different name and Staff and as a weekly podcast for many years. But it was only in 2012, when BeatLounge decided to take the next logical step, a natural mutation in its format. And so in March 2012 the podcast transforms into Radio, offering a unique product where 30+ radioshows with different styles such as Deep, House, Ambient, Trip Hop, Progressive, Tech, Trance, Chillout and Lounge, and artists like Nacho Sotomayor, Chris Coco, Raphael Marionneau, Ferry Corsten, Giuseppe Ottaviani and Aly & Fila merge exquisitely in a 24/7 programming. Not to mention interesting guestmixes that have aired on BeatLounge Radio by De Phazz, Da Hool, Roger Shah, Todd Terry, Afterlife and Lenny Ibizarre to name a few.
In parallel to the radio growth, BeatLounge Producers: Alejandra Iorgulescu (a.k.a. miss i.) & Luis Blanco (a.k.a. lewait!) released their first compilation album in August 2012 under Schalldeluxe Records from Germany, consisting of emerging and even world renowned artists such as Moby!
“BeatLounge | Chillout LifeStyle” was a first taste of the road they’d be travelling down until successfully creating their own record label in March 2013.
BeatLounge Records, based in Los Angeles, California (USA) is a young, passionate and go-getter independent music label, created to showcase the amazing talent of their Resident radio artists as well as others, within the exciting and complex world of electronic music!
Their first release “Take A Drink | EP” is already on sale at their website and all major online retailers. It includes the Original Mix “Take A Drink, Move Your Feet” by Jesús Alonso feat. lewait! (Funky Beach House) and four remixes, by Vivi Pedraglio (Tech/Progressive) Alex ElVíl (Deep) Jey Indahouse (Jackin House) and Mariano Sinestesia (Ambient/Lo-Fi).
“Take A Drink, Move Your Feet” also served as a promotional single for their recent release: “BeatLounge | Midnight Lifestyle”, a compilation album already on pre-sale including ten tracks plus a continuous mix, where they opted to play with faster beats and show a variety of styles that range from House to Trance, passing through Deep, Jackin, Techno and Progressive House, showing us what their resident artists Alex ElVil, Leandro Dutra, Jey Indahouse and lewait! can achieve. The album also includes tracks by Huw Costin, Eva Pacifico, Synapsis, Motif, Gushi & Raffunk, and Moby, as well as remixes by today’s hottest artists such as Gabriel Diggs, Arno Cost and Stefan Cordery.
The concept is clear: “BeatLounge | Midnight Lifestyle” takes you to the nighttime, dancing, interesting people and good music in an ideal atmosphere!
Clearly the BeatLounge Team is on the move! You can expect new Radio Shows and Productions that will be released before the end of the year and early 2014: radioshows by Thomas Lemmer from Germany, also known as half of the duo “Motif” and also a new weekly show “Re|Fresh” by Los Angeles DJ Gabriel Diggs. “BeatLounge | Chillout Lifestyle 002”, a chillout and ambient compilation CD including tracks by Chris Coco, Gary B, Afterlife and many more (Sept. 2013), “LoungeStyle Vol. 001”, a nu-jazz, downtempo and lounge album around Christmas 2013, created to celebrate three years on air of one of their audience’s most beloved radioshows, and “BeatClub Vol. 001”, a deep, progressive and tech house compilation thought to represent their radioshow of the same name, scheduled for February 2014.
