The journey of Femme En Fourrure continues towards deeper waters along with a new line-up and a renewed touch. The suppressed soundscapes of the June-released convex industries debut album have evolved slightly, reaching for new unknown grounds.
The sources of inspiration include the Baltic Sea area and its birch trees, the Eurovision Song Contest, Anglo-Saxon literature of the Early Middle Ages and Seattle during the 90’s.
Originally from Tallinn, Estonia, now residing in New York and releasing music through the prolific 100% Silk record label; Maria Minerva givers her touch of exotic to the release in the form of an eerie cover-remix, marinated with ancient drum machines.
In the past FEF have worked with wide and multifaceted range of artist and labels, such as Hotflush’s South London Ordnance. Their collaborative track ‘Obsidian’ caught the attention of Marcel Dettmann and it ended up in his Berlin Session for Red Bull Music Academy.
Julio Bashmore included their track ‘Bound’ in his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and on of FEF’s very first tracks ‘Dirty Blonde’ was charted and powerplayed by Rekid’s Radio Slave. FEF have also made remix work for the legendary Chicago based record label Trax Records, and been remixed by Nguzunguzu.
