Rounding out a stellar year of first-class techno jams, Stacey Pullen’s Blackflag Recordings presents a fine five-tracker from Corrie, one of the UK’s pioneering tech house purveyors. Package includes a stunning peak-time re-work from Pleasurekraft.

With a history stretching back 25 years, Corrie knows the intuitive art of crafting a dancefloor burner better than most. The pioneering artist cut his teeth playing, promoting and trading vinyl during London nascent rave days at iconic record stores such a Zoom, all the while playing global clubbing hotspots such a Tresor and E-Werk (Berlin), Twilo (NYC) and Turnmills (London). Since 2007 he’s been responsible for quality imprint Eat More Beef issuing records from the likes of Guti and Alex Under, all the while in demand for his DJ prowess at London institutions such like Wiggle.

And to this day, Corrie continues to create exciting, groove-infused records; tracks that eschew the formulaic but are instead imbued with a distinct personality and undisputed dancefloor spunk.

Corrie’s ‘Chameleons’ EP – his debut for Blackflag – reflects its multifaceted name. From cheeky atmospheric rollers to 5am melody-drenched hypnotisers that’ll inspire a pleasure-drenched ‘tuunne’ face to spread from ear-to-ear, it mirrors the diverse life and career the pioneering artist has enjoyed to date.

“Having been a Stacey supporter since his ‘Silent Phase’ and ‘Kosmic Messenger’ days, I feel honoured to release on Blackflag. The ‘Chameleons’ EP was recorded in Sardinia. Having spent most of my life living in noisy metropolis like London and Buenos Aires, I often wondered what it could have been like to be moving back to my birthplace and making music there for a while. A quiet life, the feeling of being totally immersed into nature, the sound of the sea, the power behind simple things. Time to reinvent, to be versatile, to blend and create new colours. Just like a Chameleon.” – Corrie

A brilliant addition to the bunch, the package also includes an exhilarating peak-time remix of the title track from Pleasurekraft.
