In his past releases Decoside has shown more than once to be able to do almost everything, from square-shaped dub techno to soft and warm deep house, but his “Detroit paradise ep” pushes the limit to his creativity even further.
Following the trail left by the latest Exprezoo releases he dives in a sea of analog and oldschool sounds and comes out with some timeless tracks, that manage to sound like these days but wouldn’t be out of place in a warehouse party in Chicago in the nineties, in one of Larry Heard’s earliest sets: the two “Drone” versions are a great showcase of Giacomo’s talents, always able to know when to cuddle the listener and when to beat him up and slap him around, while “Make in a difference”, “Monotonia” and “Right first” will make many djs happy thanks to their crystal-clear grooves and their versatility; it’s the title track, anyway, that gives the ep its own personality, with its broken beats surrounding an ethereal, sci-fi atmosphere.
