Hello Arthur and Axel, welcome to the 5 shoot interview for differentgrooves.com !
1. What can you say about your musical background and the main things that influenced your style?
Many things influence us. Hard to answer properly… We both began with Rock music (mainly Garage and Punk) and quickly be interested in the electronic music but since a long time we are interested in many kind of music, IDM, Krautrock, Ambient, Techno music for sure, Psyché rock and experimental, a bit of noise also…
In term of artists our influences first began with Aphex Twin, Autechre, Monolake, a bit later with Arpanet, Dopplereffekt, Der Zyckus or also bands like Silver Apple, Fifty Fout Hose, Can, Suicide or Neu!
And then Surgeon, Sleeparchive, Substance,  LFO, The Martian, … Today we really appreciate the record label minimal Wave or the compilation New York Noise, the band KVB, the work of Dominick Fernow, and many more.
Sorry for this obvious listing.

2. What’s the concept behind Divergent Ways and what are the main aims you would achieve? Also, have you ever thought to found a label before?
The first aim for this label was to be free to share our music and feel free to release it when we want.
In a second time we wanted to provides an alternate path for our music remolding sensory imager and re-interpreting pictorial codes. That’s why each production draws the parallel between a visual impact and a sound.
“Music as a visual manifestation”.
The aim was also to play with our influences our feelings and vision of the current artistic scene without forget the past surely. That’s why each EP adopts the work of a artist but not necessary an artist who do music.

3. In your opinion what you’re going to do will fill many lacks of the modern electronic music?
We don’t really have the feeling there is a lack on modern electronic music. There are so many people doing great stuffs which inspire us. Obviously there are a lots of things which have ever been done but could still being interesting to hear. We don’t aim at filling a gap, we are just making the music that we love, that gives us strong feelings and share it with people. We try to have the most personal value. We try hard on our tracks to give the best of what we have but there is no goal related to the actual electronic scene.

4. Is this the first time you publish your own songs or you already experienced under different alias?
Yes, ambient and atmospheric music for both of us with really different tone.
The work on saturation and the proximity with visuals can bind the projects I assume.
We prefer to stay anonymous for this project.

5. Is anything new forthcoming in the next months that you want to tell us about?
Sure ! We’re working on a second release with an exclusive track we are currently producing, going with two remixes made by Weirdd and Renart. It will be the second part of our First Light Part One EP which actually is a kind of diptych work.

Thank you for having spent the time to let our readers know more about your music and thoughts!
Our pleasure !
