Putting together one of the greatest urban music events in recent Slovenian history has had its ups and downs but in the end the positive vibe that it created paid off all the efforts and sleepless nights of a Slovenian-Finnish team that brought this magical story to ‘the most beautiful city in the world’ as Ljubljana’s mayor likes to call it.
Every good festival has it own story and it’s people and location that add the most to it. It was a romantic journey with Jose Gonzales, Polona Kasal and Metronomy. And there were Torul banishing rainy clouds. It was a place, where you could get a hipster hairdo, ride wooden bicycle and longboards, climb artificial wall, enjoy world cuisine, exchange ideas with some of the best local artists and creative people or just dance and enjoy the amazing ambient of artistically transformed 130 years old factory.
It was a festival hosting Run the Jewels less than 24 hours after their instant classic performance at Glastonbury. Not to mention Pet Shop Boys’ show that was a proper eye and ear candy and the amazing performance by Caribou. Last but not least, Flow Ljubljana was a festival where Rosin Murphy became one with her fans first on stage and right after that in the first row of Backyard arena dancing freely to Recondite’s amazing live performance till 3 am. Yes she’s our queen. And we love her very much.
Flow Ljubljana is a story of Slovenian-Finnish partnership that wanted to bring out everything that adds to the quality of urban living with a strong creative and eco message and in this aspects the project was huge success, becoming one of the hottest topic in the city and country attracting unusually lot of positive energy.
It was a unique urban joyride that Ljubljana and Slovenia really needed, at least that’s the prevailing response in the media, on the streets and socials, and if you just don’t have enough of it – book your stay, jump the plane and come to the mother ship.
