– Your all-time favourite club track?
Well that’s hard to decide… it really depends on the club and the atmosphere but in terms of being my personal timeless club track which makes me wanna party every time, it has to be the Tale of Us remix of “Disco Gnome”:
– The track you’ve finished a set with the most often?
That’s Time by Pachangaboys… so much love and emotions in here… Actually I like to give people a really happy and kind of peaceful feeling at the end of a party…. so this has been my choice in many sets so far!
– The track you cleared the floor with (what happened when?)
Oh yeah I remember this one… It was the Solomon Remix of “Around” by Noir before it was a hit. It was one of those tracks which gave a whole new twist to a specific genre. Very rare and somehow uncommon at the first listen… but as you all knew it became a big big hit.
– The track you rescued a floor with?
One of my biggest strength as a DJ is that I’m capable of adjusting my sound to hard crowds without being cheesy. A few weeks ago I had a gig and people really didn’t want to dance… Maybe it was too hot or too early… but when I played this new tune, people started to groove and dance. I was then able to build my set from this point to a really nice party with a great crowd.
– The cheesiest/ guiltiest secret track you love?
“Nneka – Shining Star (Joe Goddard Remix)”. The vocal is really cheesy but Joe made it quite accessible for me. Also I like to play it outdoors.
– The track that everyone else loved that you hated?
It’s the Wankeltmut Remix of Asaf Avidian. It was like a big soundcloud hit before it got signed and I really couldn’t stand the production at all. The drums were mixed very muddy and the bass wasn’t eq’ed properly. It was better when it was released by a major. But still not a fan. Wankelmut can do much better as he showed in later productions.
– The track that you loved that everyone hated?
Long time ago.. but I loved it so much back in 2001…. When I played my first gigs, nobody really wanted to hear that song. I think I’d played in the wrong clubs at that point of my DJ career…. But when I want to get into a party mood, I’m still playing this at home!
– Anything you’d like plugging?
I have a great new EP called “One Night” that is going to be released on Love Harder. I’m really happy with the end product so I hope you guys like it too! Thanks!
