Les Plages Électroniques
04 August 2016 to 07 August 2016
The first week in August will see Cannes host its biggest electronic music event of the year in its usually reserved setting.
Les Plages Électroniques is now in its 11th year, and the new decade introduces a fresh format for the festival, which will span three days and three stages. An eclectic program of electronic music will be presented in the vibrant beach location of the Palais Des Festivals – home of the renowned Cannes Film Festival – with the main stage on the beach in front of the famous steps as well as the roof and terrace of the building.
The festival will bring in a variety of artists across the electronic music spectrum. DJ crew Birdy Nam Nam will be putting on an exciting show on the opening night with a visual light installation, introduced by DJ and producer Branko, who founded the Portuguese group Buraka Som Sistema. Friday night boasts, in true Les Plages Électroniques spirit, a diverse lineup of international techno and house with Nina Kraviz, Carl Craig, Bella Sarris and Elrow, a troupe of performers and DJs who will design the terrace stage, which they have previously themed jungle and Bollywood. Saturday night is an entirely French lineup, with DJ Snake, who has previously collaborated with Diplo’s Major Lazor, performing alongside his friend and fellow Frenchman Tchami, as well as N’to and techno dream team Worakls from French record label Hungry Music.
