Japan-based label Torque makes its international debut with a powerhouse techno release featuring a strong roster of artists from around the Pan Pacific Region. Torque 01 features label Co-Founder Masa Ueda’s stomping original track “Sprecher Verdammteres” paired with an impressive selection of techno remixes. Masa Ueda’s original is a rough ride through jackin’ techno with a distinct crunchy Chicago undertone, creative sampling and funky drive. Japanese artist Q’Hey, a veteran of labels like Marco Bailey’s MB Electronics as well as BPM Japan, returns to the spotlight with a clean, chunky modern techno version that’s driving and dance floor ready. West Coast U.S. artist JAK, label boss at SubSensory Recordings, maintains the original’s crunch, but brings a distinct and driving groove plus a massive breakdown that’s perfect for the peak party moments. Highly regarded artist Truncate, aka Audio Injection, brings his distinct stripped down approach to his remix of SV. Truncate’s jakin’ rendition is the perfect tool for today’s techno dancefloor. Exclusive to the digital release is a remix from Beijing artist Elvis.T, who has appeared on Mothership, and Beijing’s home-grown label Acupuncture. He brings a big room vibe and massive kick with plenty of dirty groove.
