It’s not every DJ who is tipped for great things by the bible of electronic music, and certainly not every DJ who follows through on such an accolade with the ardor that Tim Green has. In that very short space of time since his award forDJ Mag’s ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ in 2010, Tim has proved his mettle with a fearless intensity that has propelled him into the upper ranks of the techno hierarchy.
Now a globe-trotting sensation in his own right, it’s time for the young Londoner to broaden his strokes with a new venture and today he announces the launch of his crisp new imprint, Disc Over.
Neoteric in concept, Disc Over is an exciting stage from which Tim will unleash some of his most colourful musical creations, elevating the quintessentially divergent roots of Tim’s music to new heights. The label will afford him the opportunity to be considerably more diverse in his musical output, showcasing a meticulously curated selection of work from up-and-comers and, of course, his peers. An extension of Tim’s personality and current tastes, Disc Over promises to be a sound foundation for forward-thinking music. This is what Tim had to say about his new project.
‘My main reason for starting Disc Over is to give myself and others a solid platform to release new and interesting electronic music. It’s aimed to be an extension to whatever sound or style that I am into, as an added reflection on my current tastes in music. Especially releasing music from a lot of new talent and good close friends, as well as music from myself that may not always fit into other labels sound or direction.
Kicking it all off with two original tracks, Tim’s ‘Just People’ and ‘Monomania’ will feature two amazing remixes fromTimo Mass and My Favorite
Robot making this a stunning debut release package for Disc Over. Other artists to feature on the label will consist ofLuca Lozano and Mr.Ho, and T.W.I.C.E.
Continuing in true Tim Green tradition, the label launch party is looking pretty special with Innervisions Recordings boss Dixon taking the helm. The party will be held at The Tunnel in Kent, an old Napoleonic Fortress, on October 25th, which will be transformed into a club for the evening. Also, joining Tim will be Luca Lozano and Mr.Ho, who we are certain, will become a firm favourite at Disc Over. Tim will be playing a special live set on the night, which he will be debuting on August 25th at SW4 in London.
“My concept for the live set is to perform and manipulate my music for a dance floor setting performing completely new and original unheard tracks, as well as performing many existing tracks from my back catalogue. I will be creating and blending sounds as well as live vocals from myself. Expect a diverse amount of styles, deep and melodic, right up to techno and everything in between. However, always with a lot of musicality.” Says Tim.
