Blackflag Recordings is proud to present Tony Dee’s ‘Pomada EP’ – the latest release on Stacey Pullen’s white-hot Blackflag imprint.
Tony Dee’s productions have been a staple in Stacey’s set for a while now, with the Italian impressing with his a slew of peak-time techno bombs released on imprints such as Martin Eyerer’s Kling Klong, Suara, Lapsus Music and Prospect Records, among others.
His debut release for Blackflag is a three-track package designed to hit the dancefloor right between the eyes. Title track ‘Pomada’ packs a bunch with its layers of drum samples and frenzy-inducing drops and has been getting a massive response whenever Stacey has dropped it at Music On this season, while rising Italian DJ/producer Hollen is drafted in for remix duties on Pomada and turns in a stellar tribal-laced re-rub. Completing the package is the chugging and brilliantly filthy ‘Nesa’ that impressively illustrates why 25-year-old Tony stands as one of the most exciting new producers to come out of Italy in recent years.
The EP follows Pullen’s ‘Circus Act’ in May, with Nic Fancuilli’s remix rocketing in at #6 on Beatport’s Tech House charts (Stacey’s original charted #28) and received support from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1, while the follow up from Sergio Fernandez hit #4 on Tech House charts thanks to the blitzing ‘Clicks N Stuff’.
Already laying claim to an army of supporters that includes Carl Cox, John Digweed, Richie Hawtin, Seth Troxler, Loco Dice, Mark Knight, Dubfire, Pirupa, Kaiserdisco, Tony Dee is unquestionably an artist on the rise and Stacey couldn’t he happier to have join the Blackflag family:
“Tony Dee is someone who all of a sudden came outta nowhere and the next thing I knew I had most of his productions in my digital collection. His productions are always full of energy and really percussive, and me being a drummer, I love tracks that have serious grooves. I’ve charted many of his tracks in the past so naturally when we connected for Blackflag it was a perfect fit for my new young roster of producers whom I’m feeling.” – Stacey Pullen
