Pretty Pink announces set to perform at Tomorrowland Mainstage + new release

Pretty Pink is firmly cementing her presence as a globally-esteemed artist in today’s electronic music industry. Label-head of Deep Woods, not only 2021 was a highlight year for the German-talent as she made her Mixmag Brazil cover story debut.

She rounded off the season with a remix of GRAMMY-nominated trio Above & Beyond. “Above & Beyond feat. Richard Bedford – Every Little Beat (Pretty Pink Remix)” became an internationally-recognised anthem within contemporary electronic music circles, testament to her keen ear for production. Onto 2022. Such momentum looks set to continue, with a plethora of achievements already lined up for this year. One of those is a award from iconic German publication Faze Magazine, who have lauded her as the #1 ‘Best Breakthrough Artist National’ of 2021 in the latest issue – marking another career milestone for the young DJ and producer

Production-wise another landmark event will take place during this year, with the arrival of Pretty Pink’s maiden Anjuna album. It showcases the full-breadth of her song-making capability, traversing the progressive and melodic realms of melodic techno & house, deep house and everything in between.

Add to that confirmed gigs at some of the world’s largest festival stages, including both editions of Tomorrowland 2022 – including her debut on the Tomorrowland Mainstage 17th July 2022 . And it’s safe to say this year looks set to be one of the most successful on record for thriving dance music mainstay Pretty Pink.

Selected upcmoing dates: Tomorrowland Winter France // Treehouse Miami // Gashouder Amsterdam // Cathedral Toronto // Tomorrowland Belgium >> https://prettypink.de/tourdates/

++ Pretty Pink – Gazer (Through The Night) ++ OUT on Deep Woods

Following the international success of her Dark Woods EP and her highly acclaimed latest remix for Grammy nominated trio Above & Beyon, Pretty Pink returns with Gazer (Through The Night). A powerful melodic techno & house production with infectious synthesizer, uplifting beat and pulsating build ups under the belt. Combined with the spoken word of a New York based Poet, this track spins into an unforgettable highlight full of intense vibe.

RA, Secretsundaze and fabric announce ‘Streaming For Ukraine’ with Gilles Peterson, Daniel Avery, Jane Fitz, Fabio & Grooverider and more.

Resident Advisor, Secretsundaze and fabric are coming together to host a fundraising stream in support of humanitarian charities and organisations working in Ukraine. From 2pm until 10pm on Thursday March 3rd, Streaming For Ukraine will broadcast sets from Craig Richards, Fabio & Grooverider, Daniel Avery, Jane Fitz b2b Carl H, Gilles Peterson b2b Jamz Supernova, Shannen SP b2b Ikonika, Danielle b2b Parris and partners Secretsundaze. You can tune in from 2PM via RA’s website, on Facebook Live and also on Mixcloud Live.

The tragic invasion of Ukraine is creating a humanitarian crisis as people are cut off from the basic essentials of life or forced to leave their homes as refugees. Those left behind find themselves caught in an escalating military conflict, which has already seen civilian buildings targeted by Russian missiles and bombs. If you can afford to do so please donate via the JustGiving page that has been setup, which will distribute funds evenly between the Red Cross’ Ukraine Crisis Appeal, Choose Love’s Ukraine Crisis Fundraiser, Ukrainian charity Sunflower Of Peace and Black Is Polish, a grassroots black and brown led organisation who are distributing funds for transport and shelter to black, brown and queer refugees without Ukrainian passports.

This most eclectic of streams kicks off in fabric’s Room 2 at 2pm with Worldwide FM founder Gilles Peterson playing with BBC Radio 6 tastemaker Jamz Supernova, followed by deep-digging pair Jane Fitz and Carl H going back to back. Notorious duo Secretsundaze step up at 4pm and the always artful Daniel Avery plays at 5pm.

Two back-to-backs follow between Bristol’s Danielle and can you feel the sun co-founder Parris, with Hyperdub affiliates Shannen SP and Ikonika then running heavy bass and broken beats. After a penultimate hour from RAGE’s legendary drum and bass / hardcore duo Fabio & Grooverider, fabric resident Craig Richards closes down.

“We’ve been very fortunate to have played in Ukraine, particularly at Closer in Kiev, over the years and have built cherished connections and friendships with the hugely warm and hospitable residents of the city. Hearing first hand tales of evacuating cities, chaos at borders and taking up arms in defence has been heartbreaking.

We were due to play at Closer this weekend. Instead now, we wanted to help bring together this live stream – a show of solidarity with the people of Ukraine against Putin’s unprovoked aggression and a chance to raise money for humanitarian causes on the ground.” James Priestley, Secretsundaze co-founder.

Please tune in and donate if you can. ra.co/live

Located just a five minute walk from Beckenham Hill train and bus stations, Hospitality Weekend In The Woods is an easily accessible escape from everyday life. It plunges you deep into 98 acres of green and natural fields with lakes, woodland and the beautiful Palladian-style mansion all foreign an epic backdrop to two days of world class music.

Thousands of drum and bass fans attend this always sold out event and never fail to be in awe of the unique stage designs, the next level audio visual production, high spec sound and array of the tastiest street food South London has to offer. This year will be bigger than ever with wall-to-wall bangers, atmospheric woodland stages and never before seen back-to-backs.

Stage hosts include Fabric’s legendary Friday night London party Fabriclive as well as critically acclaimed drum & bass don Calibre and of course Hospitality themselves. But also joining are Undivide, who bring sounds from the heavier end of the spectrum, Spearhead – the UK D&B label founded in January 2005 by Steve Jeffery AKA BCee, and Rupture, which began as a club night in 2006 to showcase the jungle and breaks side of the spectrum. Known for pushing experimental, cutting edge production alongside classic jungle anthems, the party evolved into a label in 2012 and remains a vital underground voice.

Then comes Born on Road vs Run In the Jungle. Born on Road is a Bristol-based record label and DJ collective firmly rooted at the heart of drum and bass and jungle but with an eclectic sound. Friction’s Shogun Audio needs little introduction given that it is responsible for breaking many of today’s drum & bass stars and released some of the genre’s biggest anthems.

Last of all is Soulvent Records vs Flexout Audio. The former has always championed new talent and related music from across the whole spectrum and the latter is the London based imprint from drum and bass visionary Tom Bassi that has launched many careers while soundtracking global dance floors with its killer output.

In all there will be more than100 of the most acclaimed names for the drum & bass world playing across the seven stages over two days. As such, there will be something for everyone and a chance to curate your own unique weekend soundtrack. But some of the many standouts include an exclusive, one-off London show from Fabio & Grooverider and The Outlook Orchestra which will find the legendary DJs perform a set of stone cold drum & bass classics with the revered 40-piece orchestra.

Elsewhere, High Contrast will look back on a hugely successful 20 year career with a special anniversary set, Dillinja will put the sound system through its paces with his famously heavy low ends and DnB pioneer DJ Storm is also set to make a headline set like no other.

She will be joined by the master of smooth, deep liquid rhythms that is Calibre, the always energetic Camo & Krooked, some kinetic steps from the one and only DJ Hype and more golden rhythms from Brazilian hero DJ Marky. For some cross-sectional sounds including garage and grime look no further than Flava D, while My Nu Leng will be playing a special all D&B set.

As if that wasn’t enough, pioneers of the game like Roni Size, General Levy, Kings Of The Rollers & Inja play, and just about every other conceivable sub-genre will be served up by the 50 acts lined up.

After 18 years in the game, there is no other brand as deeply immersed in drum & bass as Hospitality. That means this annual weekender is unlike any other experience in the country.
