Mercia’s ‘City of Villains’ is another brilliant expression of typical UK styles like jungle, breakbeat and bass music, styles with flows strictly related to rave or generically to the party/event scene. The original mixes share a dark and melancholic vision of life, there the instrumentals are not so shifted to the high end sound spectrum, however the various sounds share also the artist’s state of mind. As opposite the remixes made by 95 Bones and Kiddah carry some intensity: booming drums and intimidating motifs play the main role in the game, supported by interesting synths and fxs.
