ADE Underground Techno 2026: The Artists Worth Watching

Amsterdam Dance Event marks its 30th anniversary from 21 to 25 October with more than 1,000 events across hundreds of venues, over 3,300 artists confirmed, and a programme that sprawls from club basements to ballet stages. But beneath the anniversary sits something more interesting: a lineup of working artists who represent exactly the kind of electronic Amsterdam has always quietly nurtured.

The Artists Shaping the Underground Programme

The first announcement, which came back in June with Helena Hauff, Eris Drew, Octo Octa, Avalon Emerson, Jeff Mills, Jyoty, Shanti Celeste, MCR-T and ISAbella, among the first 350-plus names confirmed. These are not festival headliners in the mainstream sense. They are artists whose reputations are built record by record, set by set. Subsequent additions have kept the temperature honest, with Donato Dozzy, Hunee, Midland, Anz, Peach, livwutang and Angel D’Lite all joining the wider bill. For anyone tracking ADE, that is a serious spread of selectors and producers, and it tells you more about the health of the underground than any anniversary press release can.

Special Events and Performances for the 30th Anniversary

Beyond the club programme, ADE has assembled a handful of genuinely unusual projects to mark its third decade. Jean-Michel Jarre is this year’s guest of honour, appearing at ADE Pro for a keynote interview and performing an opening concert at AFAS Live on 21 October. The timing also marks the 50th anniversary of his landmark album Oxygène, so the conversation between electronic music’s past and its present is built into the event itself. Skepta returns with an expanded Más Tiempo show at Warehouse Elementenstraat, and KI/KI headlines two nights at Ziggo Dome with her five-hour show, KI/KI 5 HOURS.

At the Gashouder, Swan Lake Remixed brings together Dutch National Ballet, Junior Company and ISH Dance Collective in a production written specifically for ADE, combining classical ballet, hip-hop, electronic music and digital art, with music composed by Rik Ronner. Artist Boris Acket presents EINDER at De Centrale Markthal, an 80-by-25-metre moving textile installation shaped by light, sound and fans, with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra performing Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony on 21 October and Elias Mazian bringing his live band the following night.

ADE Lab, Arts and Culture, and What Else to Expect

The 30 Years ADE Icon Series draws together 30 selected events from across the full programme, each chosen to connect electronic music history with current and emerging artists and forms. ADE Lab returns in two parts this year: a three-day talent development programme for emerging producers and artists, and ADE Lab Discovery, a free Wednesday-to-Friday run at Westerpark with open sessions, gear demonstrations and cultural events. ADE Arts and Culture adds further installations, exhibitions and interdisciplinary performances across the city, while ADE Pro will explore electronic music scenes in Brazil, the MENA region and Sub-Saharan Africa among its broader focus subjects. ADE and VibeLab will also launch the first Nighttime Culture Index, a new project examining nightlife health across Amsterdam, Lagos, New York, São Paulo, Seoul and Sydney.
