El Tony Mate have once again shone the spotlight on the rising stars of electronic music by having their Producer Academy back in Ibiza. This year, 8 young producers from across Europe had the amazing opportunity to gain unique insight into developing their sound and learning from some established artists.
The fully free Academy was held from 1st-7th October and gave 8 lucky winners a packed week of producing and collaborating. This year’s mentors were SKALA, a DJ/Producer based in Berlin and Kid Simius, an electronic artist from Spain. El Tony Mate is a natural energy drink that helps give you the natural energy you need for your daily activities, producing and those long late nights. They run the Culture Collective, where they aim to help rise new talents.
One of the key parts of the academy was the time spent in Metrica Studio. The producers were encouraged to share their knowledge, try some new ideas and learn from each other. As a result, everyone produced some new music and formed new friendships. They were also able to get a taste of Ibiza’s club scene, with a group visit to Hï Ibiza.
Ellen Fölmli, Culture Specialist at El Tony Mate says: ‘with the Producer Academy, we want to create opportunities for producers to learn, connect and grow beyond their usual home studio setup. Bringing them together with experienced coaches and other talents creates a completely different energy. Seeing how creative everyone became throughout the week and how inspired they left showed us exactly why we want to create spaces like this.’
The 8 winners left Ibiza with new ideas, connections, friendships and inspiration. But most importantly, they became part of a creative collective that will continue to help them grow. Their cultural collective also includes Selected Sessions, giving artists and communities the chance to connect in new ways. Overall, this shows their commitment to giving new creative talents more opportunities.
