The announcement that puts the Skream Benga Spotify DIALOG event at the centre of Drumsheds’ AW26 season is the one worth pausing on. Confirmed for 17 October at the North London warehouse, the night is framed as a journey through dubstep and UK bass, from its earliest foundations through to the producers and selectors shaping where the sound goes next. For anyone who was there when those records first hit, or who came to them later and wondered what all the reverence was about, this is a rare chance to hear the full arc laid out in one room.
The lineup around Skream and Benga is genuinely strong. Plastician and D Double E bring deep roots to the bill, while SBTRKT, Jammer, Special Request, Flava D, Pangaea, Carré and Surusinghe cover a span of generations and approaches that few promoters would bother to assemble this carefully. Spotify’s DIALOG series has been choosing its moments, and picking dubstep UK bass live event history as a focus feels like the right call for a sound that rarely gets this kind of platform treatment without being flattened into nostalgia.
The Wider Season at Drumsheds
The AW26 programme runs from September through to December and pulls in a wide range of sounds across the venue’s three rooms. It opened on 19 September with Defected London, featuring Armand Van Helden and Basement Jaxx. Max Dean’s NEXUP followed on 3 October, building on its well-received first run at the venue. Don’t Let Daddy Know makes its London debut on 9 October, and Bugged Out! takes over the following day with 2manydjs back to back with Erol Alkan and The Avalanches on the bill. Terminal V arrives on 23 October, and False Idols returns on 24 October with Kim Petras and COBRAH headlining alongside VTSS, Josh Caffé and UNIIQU3, with a False Idols Ceremony featuring Rose Gray also on the programme. Steppers makes its Drumsheds debut in September, and elrow closes out October with its Horroween Festival on the 31st.
November is equally packed. Worried About Henry brings an all-day drum and bass event to the venue, while La Discothèque celebrates its 10th anniversary with Purple Disco Machine and Folamour. A State of Trance marks its 25th anniversary on 14 November, headlined by Armin van Buuren in what will be the first indoor A State of Trance festival held in the UK. City Splash takes over on 21 November, with Masicka, Spice and Rampage Sound among the names confirmed, before FUSE throws its 18th birthday show on 28 November, billed as the club night’s biggest London event to date. The season closes on 5 December with RESISTANCE London.
The Skream and Benga date on 17 October is the one that sits differently from the rest of the programme. UK bass music history rarely gets curated with this much care in a live setting, and the Drumsheds space is big enough to let the low end breathe the way it was meant to.
